Thanksgiving day is celebrated in the United States on the Fourth Thursday in November since 1863 as a religious observation to give thanks to God. It was first celebrated by the pilgrims of Plymouth colony for helping them to survive the brutal winter that was ever witnessed by them and the first thanks giving feast lasted three days.
